    Workingout after abdominal surgery

I am awaiting surgery for a torn abdomen. Was wondering if anyone out there has had the experience and how long before regular routine was able to be done. Also, were ab workouts back to normal or are there limitations from there on out. I had hernia surgery last year on groin and that is just fine, but now we're talking core and I do have concerns. Any feedback will be appreciated.

Someone else can give you a timetable better, but I would not plan on working out for at least a few weeks to a month past when you "seem" to be fully recovered. Working out puts a lot more stress on your core than just plain normal activity.

Recovery and health is way more important than hitting the gym.

No gym for home, work out floor with 30, but is it for 20 like 30 lb when you no lift it to be for men, for 30 lbs instead? or half is 10 for 20 pounds?

    i would ask your surgeon
if he's unsure, get a physical therapy consult
