hey guys,
i currently switched over from doing pyramid training for over a year to max -ot.
i am doing a 4 day split and am on week 8. i have seen great results s far, but the issue is that my joints and muscles feel sore much more often.
Is it wise to lift this heavy for a long period of time or should i switch back to some high reps for while and then go back to the low reps.
Im trying to determine weather it is worth the soreness and stress on max-ot rather than goto back to pryamid or 12 rep scheme. SO far, iv seen the best results using this training method, but am worried about long term effects.
when you train hard and heavy it's going to be hard to stay away from joint pain. Heavy duty is heavy duty. I'd suggest going to some glucosamine and chondrotin for the joints.. always helped me out but in big doses which can get expensive.
ETS is another fantastic product for DOMS to kill that soreness too. Most people notice a difference withing a week. It definately makes a difference in my powerlifting routine..wihtout it i'm hurting all the damn time. With it I MAY have some soreness the next day but very rarely if ever.
ice anything and everything you can.. or do alot of rehab/prehab light work on the joints that you're working that day to keep them flooded with blood to created a kind of "pressure" bandage from teh pump along with filling it with rejuvenating blood!
