Alternative to bowflex

Hi Guys
I belive I've seen in some "bowflex" threads here a machine that is similar to the "bowflex extreme" but it uses our own weight plates. I need the space saving advantage of the bowflex, but I don't want a bowflex. Please point me in the right direction.

Thanks

a good gym...

a bowflex reminds me alot of bands.. where the weight increases at the top of the lift and decreases at the bottome. FUN from time to time but not very effective even though it might seem that way if you haven't worked out before. For the price of a bowflex..

in the same space you could put a powerlifting cage, a good barbell and dumbell adjustable weight set either olympic or standard... a 300lb set is fairly cheap.. and an adjustable bench and you can do SO much more and have more productive workouts than you ever could with a bowflex.

haha I was going to say the same thing, a gym membership.

in home gym stuff is nice, but most people don't use it enough, or regularly. When they walk through the gym doors, they are a little more committed to at least some sort of workout.

If you're set on a home solution:

Adjustable dumbells. They take up practically no space, are better than the bowflex at what the bowflex puports to do, and with freeweights you get every other training movement as a free bonus.
