Resting intervals

How important are rest intervals between sets when it comes to stimulating muscle grow and/or developing strength?

pretty important.

"in the howling bleeding nights, the dogs plunge into the Volga and swim desperately to gain the other bank. The nights of Stalingrad are a terror for them. Animals flee this hell; the hardest stones cannot bear it for long; only men endure."

Fuck yeah it is.

The normal range for hypertrophy is ~90 sec, but I wonder if using more time would be counterproductive? I mean, if theres more intensity and/or more volume to call for it, but keeping it in the appropriate rep range (not 4-6, but 8-10).

Bench 360 (11/29)
Weighted Pullups 80lbs 3x3 (3/19)
Squat 370
Deadlift after herniation 385lbs 3x3 (3/17)

for bodybuilding or high intensity stuff.. anywhere from 30 seconds to 2 minutes...

for strenght workouts and maxing..anywhere from 5 to 10 minutes between sets to fully recovery properly to work to your max limits.

basically enough to help you recover and finish the next set but not enough to the point you cool down and lose your heartrate pace, etc.

Concerning hypertrophy, if I adhere to 90 seconds rests between sets and my reps per set go like this: 9,7,6 or 10,8,6. How many reps lost per set is acceptable? Should the weight be lowered if I lose more than 2 reps per set?
