I was laughin at that part too. I think he's just trying to stress "quality vs. quanity."
This is pretty old btw, I just saw it get bumped in another forum so I figured I'd post it if it hasn't been already. What's with the inner, outer, upper, lower chest thing. Is there really any merit to what this guy is saying?
Although everyone will disagree with him, doesn't this guy have years of experience bodybuilding and competitions to know better? Why would he advocate targeting different areas of the chest, when really, there is only one? I understand stimulating the chest by these different movements but...

he can do whatever the hell he wants:
a) he has great genetics for the sport
b) he is part of the gentically elite....so, we can't expect things to work for us like they did for him. It would be like me saying "if i follow Michael Johnson's training program I will be able to set world records in the 100 and 200m"....um, whatever.
c) boat loads of drugs is always helpful when building a big chest

The Fit Show is basically a show filled with bodybuilding pseudo-science bullcrap. I wouldn't put much stock in juice monkey's thoughts on the topic.

maybe we can send the issue to the Mythbusters![]()
Why wouldnt he just adjust the pulley to a low setup to work his lower chest? His 3 angles/planes of movement make little to no sense to me ...
Yeah, his other comment is just as bogus. Someone with a "world class" chest pressing 175. Unless we're talking an unload or something, I seriously doubt this is accurate. Sounds to me like he is making up anecdotal bullcrap, or at least leaving out a lot of important information, to try and make a point in the absence of any real proof of his argument.

Hyperbole, of course - but to be fair, my husband has excellent pec genetics - he's forty and natural, barely presses 185 and he's got better pecs on him then guys pushing two or more plates a side.
Gotta love genetics.
Don't think it had anything to do with focusing on the outer-inner-upper bullshit though.
