Does deadlift work for my back?

I've been working out for a few years with deadlifting. But I feel that my left lower back is stronger and bigger than the right one. Is deadlift helpful to my back balance? or how bout just back extension? I'm wondering if I kept going with barbell or just body weight. Your advices are really gonna help me.

maybe you are rotating one way. Maybe you have a rotation in your hips. Maybe you have some sort of neural problem where one is bigger or more developed that the other. Maybe you favor one side over the other. maybe you use an over/under grip causing you to put more rotation to one side.

Impossible to know what the problem is without being there.

Can using a over/under hand grip cause problems like this? Ive been using this grip for a while.

switch the hands around either between reps or between sets. often times there is a tendency towards rotation to the side which is pronated (palm down).

it is an isometric contraction for the erectors as you go through the ROM of the deadlift. The erctors have to keep the spine tall and tight and prevent rounding.
