    Losing some lbs

Some help would be greatly appreciated:

I am trying to lose 5 - 10 pounds but all in my lower half.

I am 5'7", and around 165 lbs. So by no means am i fat and have never been fat but when i gain weight i gain it all below the waist in my legs and ass.

What should i be doing other than running and trying to eat decent? Should I do high reps/low weight every time I lift?

    any other tricks/advice?

You can't direct where you lose fat... it comes off where it comes off.

Diet is the most important thing. Lifting weights (heavy... none of that high rep / pink dumbell stuff) is the second most important thing.

Actually... the most important thing is to read the stickies and learn how this really works

Running isn't necessary. Large muscle compound movements - bench press, squats, chin ups, deadlifts are much more important. It all comes down to calories burned vs calories eaten. Running will burn a few calories but not a ton. Lifting weights and increasing muscle mass boosts your metabolism so you burn more calories all day, even when at rest. It's much more effective than knocking a hundred calories off here and there with running.

Don't worry... you aren't going to bulk up and look like a man. It's not that easy. You don't have the testosterone. (I am assuming you are a girl)
