While weight trainin 3 times a week, usually monday wednesday friday, will jogging in the days in between and football a couple of times a week constitute overtraining?
Overtraining is the inability to recover from training. This can be a single bout of training/comeptition or several training bouts/competitive season.
There are two types of over training:
Functional Overtraining- Meaning that we planned to overtrain (or, what has been know as over-reach) to a low level in order to then take advantage of the period of delayed transformation (the time when our newly gained fitness levels manifest themselves and the fatigue from our training disipate). It is important to not overreach to far.
Nonfunctional Overtraining- is when we overtrain to much, our ability to recover is compromised, our immune system takes a dive and this can take months to over come.
What your can adapt to and recover from is totally different for each person. Some people can handle more training than others.
I would say that, looking at all the stuff you are doing, without knowing the intensity of your running, lifting and practice, that you are probably overtraining yourself to hell. My guess would be that (just by the fact that you are even asking this question) you don't understand how to properly manage your training volume and intensity when you have all these other things going on.
