    415 deadlift @ 160 lbs

pickingupheavystuff002.flv - Video - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

This video is a couple of weeks old but, I thought I would post it anyway since I am trying to become a functioning member of this board.
I was very proud of this lift and hope to get 450 soon.

    Good work Vader.

BTW I lift bare footed as well because it is all done at my house though. I am waiting for the day I drop something on my foot.

How are your other lifts? No belt and no straps, and form was solid. Impressive. If your bench and squat are that good, you would do well in power lifting.

If you watch the vid to the end you will see him remove the belt from under his shirt. At first I thought the same.

Lets call it approx 430-450 dead, 290-300 bench, and 425-430 squat (my guess from your numbers) raw at 160lbs. If you trained for it, suited up, etc, I am sure you could move some respectable numbers as a powerlifter in time if that interests you. My good pal Andre, was the NH state champ back in the day. Competing at 165, he dead 650, squat low 600s, and bench a tad under 400, which was his weakest exercise due to an elbow injury from wrestling I recall.

Me, my best was 500x2 squat (with wraps), 500x 1 dead, and 400 bench, but that was at a BW of 210 or so, which although not bad for a gym lift, was not real power lifting strength. You have real natural strength it seems.

Is that a good video to learn deadlifting form from or are there any mistakes he made? I just started deadlifting again and am unsure about form.
16yr old. 205 pound. 5'8. Just here to learn
    bench press 225x6 / Deadlift 185x10 / Squat 205x10
I know, my lift weights are disproportional..
    Working on it..

Couple of things to take note of in his video:
    Feet are shoulder width apart.
Bar is close to the body.
    Hook grip.
    Head up.
Once the bar reaches just above the knees, push hips foward.

Sounds easy but it's a good idea to have an experienced lifter or trainer watch you and make corrections to any mistakes you are making.
