Did you have an MRI? or MRI arthrogram?
How did you do it?
Got some bad but not unexpected news, I've got a slightly torn rotator cuff. Not serious enough to require surgery at this point, we're going to try and rehab with physical therapy. Due to my medical coverage that referral won't go through for a couple of week so I'm looking for advice on how to get a head start. I'm assuming ice and huge doses of Ibuprofin to reduce inflamation, but what else should I do?
Thanks for any help.
Rules? You mean we have RULES for that???

What's this? You only show up when the scapulohumeral hits the fan?
I'll take immobilize and treat inflamation for $1000.00, Alex.
I wouldn't do much of anything until your Doc can further examine the injury...not worth the risk.....and your ass is OLD, so don't take risks.
Sorry for your bad luck, R.

I try to show up as little as possible because this place seems to be loaded with assholes like DaMayor.
No MRI. Doc had me do some range of motion moves and based on the the amount of pain (minimal) he didn't think it would show up on an MRI. That's also why he's not recommending surgery at this point, just physical therapy.
Upon our return trip from Yellowstone our camper blew a tire. I'd just had all four valve stems replaced so the lug nuts had been tightened with an impact gun. While loosening one of the lug nuts I felt a twinge in my right shoulder. Unfortunately, I had to loosen the remaining lug nuts so I did further damage.![]()

you're like 60 now right? lol
Worse than that, I didn't even have a tire iron. All I had was a 1/2" drive ratchet. Good thing I work out occasionally.![]()
Bigger, stronger, more pornal than the original ALBOB.

Hopefully this thread will be of help to you.

That was a cool thread.
And, as I recall, good old Twinpeak/Steve offered some insight during his dealings with a similar injury a while back.....its somewhere around here.
I had some strain in my right shoulder not too long ago...generalized pain, loss of sensation in my hand, rib pain, shortness of breath, etc. ...had me a bit concerned. But once I got my wife to stop rolling over on me in the middle of the night, things improved greatly.
So now I've got things narrowed down to sciatica, deep vein thrombosis, impaired vision, and lackanookieosis. Other than that, I'll be competing in May.![]()
