Leg Press Question:
I was doing a 45 degree leg press today, when I began feeling pain in my left quad. The pain felt like a burning sensation. I can't quite describe the feeling. The location of the pain was (according to my anatomy chart) in the lower right portion of the Vastus Lateralis, bordering the Vastus Medialis. Has anyone felt pain like this when doing the leg press????
Thanks, Tracie |

If it feels like an abnormally warm sensation it could be strain, I've had it before.

This type of sensation is quite common actually. I've had it and so have many of my clients. It has never proved itself to be a major problem, but when you feel it I would not push through it.
Just make sure to warmup properly before going too intense. |

Thanks, guys. I got the sensation towards the end of my last set, so I went ahead and finished it out. What's strange is that I wasn't even going that heavy. I did a 15 minute warm-up beforehand! I'll see how it goes next Sunday.
Thanks again! |

Try adjusting your foot placement a little bit as well. I've noticed that happens to me sometimes when I'm trying a new foot placement.

"When I use the word intensity I mean the ability to continue past and through the pain barrier where your mind pleads to stop and in fact convinces your body that you have hit failure, but you push through. How far you push through that barrier is the level of intensity with which you train." -- Twin Peak
