i need advice on the frequency to work out on...

im 17, about 155, 5'9, i max for bench at 175-180, and i squat around 230.
i want to know if i should be working out my upper body as frequently as i am (48 hours, with a usual off day somewhere in the week) and how often i should switch up my workout program to ensure my body doesnt get used to what i am doing..i am trying to gain as much muscle as possible, and it seems to be working, but since i have been using the same basic workout plans, bench, dumbell, other assorted things for triceps and chest, i want to know any other various workouts that i can use on other weeks to shake up my workout routine
PS i only ask about upper body because my lower body routine seems to be working fine.
Thanks
Kevin

Youre 17. I'd Take at least three days off between workouts and Eat your ass off and look in the mirror to know when to cut calories.

Thats all i have for a dam 17 year old. Damn youngan
Are you gonna count your calories, fats, carbs and protein for us? If you want to add you need a surplus. Being 17 you should be a walking steroid shot. Keep your workouts below an hour and oh yea eat.

Fucking youngan....

I'm 32.

Personally I would say, you need to find what works best for you dude.

I'm 21 so I was/am still in the same boat as you. I do however have about 3 1/2 years of training under my belt now.

And this plan below is probably the best thing you can do for yourself at your age, this will help develop a solid foundation on which to build on top of. It's easier than you think to over train, especially at your age when you haven't yet developed the best recovery rate yet. Heavy lifts like squats, deadlifts and bench press will produce the most Growth Hormone and testosterone and help with the rest of your overall gains because exercises like these signal your body to GROW GROW GROW moreso than ANY OTHERS !!!!
