Max effort day on west side

I'm currently doing westside for the first time in a while. I'm doing it a little differently on the max effort days, working up to my 3RM instead of my 1RM. I notice however that I'm maxing out at weights that are lower than my usuals. For example, my decline bench 3RM was the same as my flat bench 3RM which should never be the case for myself since my decline has always been better than my flat. But then I noticed I had done about 8-10 sets which seems like an awful lot. My question is, how many sets do you guys usually do on your max effort days with the west side routine?

I don't know about Westside, but I did the Texas method which is a fork/variation of Westside. On max effort/power days, my sets were usually something like 3x3 or 3x5 depending on the movement.

No gym for home, work out floor with 30, but is it for 20 like 30 lb when you no lift it to be for men, for 30 lbs instead? or half is 10 for 20 pounds?
