Some of the better certs (CSCS, ACSM - Exercise Specialist) will require you to have a college degree.
Check the gym that you want to work at first to see which certs they accept.
Hi Guys,
I'm studying the first of two fitness courses at the moment,
after which, I will be a qualified personal trainer in Australia.
My question is what the minimum requirement is in the USA
to become a one on one personal trainer that can be insured and work in a gym?
Thanks, Art.
If not actually, then potentially.

I'm not looking at getting qualified to work in the US, just interested in comparison.
It seems much easier here in Australia.
You can be working in a gym as a personal trainer
after just 2 X six week competency based courses.
oh yea - same here....that doesn't mean you are any good though.
