    Most effective ab workout?

Just wondering what everyone finds to be the most effective and successful exercises for abs. I do mostly just sit-ups and various crunch variations... but if there's something else out there I'd be all for trying it.

It depends what you are wanting from your ab workouts. If you're trying to get a six pack or tone your abdominal area with exercises then nothing will work - that is all about how low your bodyfat is and therefore a diet issue rather than a training issue.

Saying that, you should train core regularly for stability and strength using a variety of different exercises.

    Crunches
    Planks
    Saxon Sidebends
    Reverse Crunches
    Side Planks
    Woodchoppers
    Side Crunches
    Birddogs
    Dumbell Rollouts

To name just a few. I usually do one or two of those after each training session (3x week).
