why are you running? 6.5 is fast on a tread mill. i mean I've been up to nine but why? If youre just wanting to get in shape then who cares. I hope youre not trying to do this for any other reason.

you want a tip? play a sport you enjoy that requires to run (footbal,basktball...etc). I absolutely detest the treadmill or running laps. I stick to full court basketball games

    go outside and run

if it is absolutely TOO cold, rainy, etc. run on a treadmill

    but in my experience...
i can do 3 miles in 22 minutes on the road, id be lucky if i completed 3 miles on a treadmill...

i wouldnt go running at night, or on busy roads, as it may not be the safest practice, but you should be able to find sidewalks, trails, tracks, and athletic complexes nearby.

to me it is 10 times more enjoyable, and it is a more natural method of training, as you control your speed, whereas a treadmill, you are just keeping up with the treadmill...

and i perfer to run without music, as it efects my foot tempo, and isolates me from the noises around me, such as approching cars, dogs, etc.

dont get me wrong, i love the gym...
    but for me

it is an in and out thing

i spend the minimum amount of time there possible...

no use expending all that energy running, without even moving...

ehh i would go outside and run if it wasn't for all the damn gangsters out to get me =\ i havent walked since i was in 11th grade and on my way home someone tried to hit me with there car at like 40 threw a parking lot LOL so yeah im good haha even though i do have a park across the street though that i could, i think 4 laps around it is a mile and i dunno imo i think it would be harder to run on the street because on the treadmill your running at a constant speed so waste less energy speeding up and slowing down =\ i dunno though
