Arrow Lunges: best way to progress?

I am currently doing lunges with DBs. Which is a better way to progress for hypertrophy-

    >increase DB weight

    OR

    >try other variations like reverse lunges, overhead lunges with the same weight

    ?

    thanks

There is no best way. It depends on what you are trying to get out of the exercise. Read my sig, its from an article in one of the stickies.

You have to figure out what works for you! No way is the way as we all have different bodies.

As I mentioned in my post, goal is hypertrophy. So for hypertrophy should I increase the "difficulty" of the exercise(to progress) by increasing weight OR by other means(like unilateral, overhead etc)?

For hypertrophy you left out a very important factor that doesn't take place in the gym.

Plus, why are you limiting this question to lunges only? What else are you doing?

    I know. Food and rest

Actually thats a good point. Question is not limited to lunges only. Squats(back squats, overhead, etc), OH press(uni and bi lateral)...

I workout only twice per week, so its impractical to try all variations.
