Do physical anomaly's piss anyone else off?

Some people must have just gotten lucky. I realize this probably at least once a week in the gym. Today there were these two guys that looked great. Both were big and lean. They both clearly looked better than anyone else in the gym. Typically I don't pay attention to anyone else but these guys were screamers and kept distracting me. So I decided to take a look at what they were doing. This is what I saw:

    Decline DB bench x10
    immediately in to push-ups x20
    Incline DB bench x10
    Immediately in to push-ups x20

They did three sets only taking a rest after all 4 exercises were done. I don't know what else they did for their workout but to me this seems like a terrible chest workout. Not to mention their form was pretty terrible and on the push-ups they had their partner pulling them up by the back of their shirt. This goes against a lot of what I know about trainer, even thought admittedly I am no where near an expert (nor maybe even intermediate).

The guys both looked like they were on gear so maybe that is what was doing it for them. However, if he just has amazing genes, well damn, why couldn't I have gotten those genes because I am at least willing to go out and seek the information to create a proper routine!

    Sorry for my rant.

isee people in my gym alllll the time that are training like idiots and even tell others "great exercises"

alot of these people did something right somewhere along the way, but they dont know what worked and what was just in there head

some of us where just not born to be elite athletes

    me for instance
my personal bests are considered "intermediate" strength level
and i work my ass off

work my ass off and i get "average"
imagine if i just said fuck it

I go for the gear theory, not to hate them, but where I workout is kind of a gym where lots of people gear. Kids always come around geared and things like that. Just today, some guy told me he was on gear and it was is first week. I just look around at people and when I see a guy 180-220lbs lifting like a plate on the bench press I already assume (I know it is bad to assume without knowing) but yeah I assume they are geared. When I came to this gym I realised how many people were gearing and it was far more than I though.

I can't tell anymore. I know some guys on gear that are really wasting their money because they look like my granddad's scrotum. On the other hand...Some people are just naturally gifted. I try not to call gear all the time because I get that shlt all the time and the most anabolic supp I've ever taken is creatine and whey!

I've come to the conclusion that my genes suck and I have to work ten times as hard to get similar results. Some people luck out, do hardly anything or do it incorrectly and look ridiculously good.

Gotta play with the cards you are dealt.

Legitimate rant. We have probably all ran across those at a gym that look great and got there without really knowing how. I use to work out at a large gym where there were those on gear and screamed a lot for the girls. I just turned my music up louder and kept to myself.

I now work out in a new small town gym that is just super. Not too busy, usually do not have to wait for other people to finish etc. Everyone is nice and polite and the place is really clean. If I said the word 'gear' everyone would probably think I was having a problem with my bicycle. Some of the guys I work out with use a PH or two, but I doubt anyone is on anything stronger.

Most of the serious lifters are all younger than myself except for one gentlemen who is an international acclaimed power lifter. He and I are about the same age, late 40's. Some of the younger guys have great physics, very little BF, but I remember when I was like that also.

One thing to keep in mind is that we are all different in our makeup; physically, mentally, everything. I certainly don't recover like I use to, but I'm stronger than most of the whipper snappers. Maybe I don't have a BF in the single digits, but I look better than most 48 year olds. Can you tell I'm happy!

I also think goals are important, however I take them a little less seriously now than when I was younger. I would like to reach 400 lbs. on my dead lifts this year (currently 350) and 340ish on my bench (currently 310 lbs.). I can't squat heavy, too many knee surgeries. I guess I'm just thankful to be healthy enough to work out and have the knowledge to do things correctly. Screw all the meatheads!

Oh yeah it's been nice finding this site. So much good info, however I do miss danny. He made me laugh everyday!

I definitely agree Min0 lee! In addition, sometimes if we get to know the people that we don't care for at first glance, they turn out to be not such bad people. A good example that is set in the gym will be seen and sometimes replicated.

Its posted on the wall of the training facility of the Oklahoma Sooners. Their strength and conditioning coach is widely regarded to be one of the greatest, if not the greatest, factor in their success.

The thing about fuckheads like those you mentioned is, if you try to explain anything to them they will do absolutely anything to fight back. "Oh well you learned that from some website on the internet, but me I learned from this really big guy".

My gym's loaded with dumb assholes. They said Im stupid because I stretch and waste my time and energy. lol

LOL it's the same for me, they always are like. Man you are so wrong about this or that bl;a bla blah this big guy told me or w/e. But if the people are kind I talk to them, like this huge guy I saw at the gym a couple of times, I talked to him and turns out he's pretty kind and he's spotting me etc.

The whole genetics thing sucks but if you work hard and are enough dedicated, you can have a damn good natural physique.

    agreed

i think its all about where you came from and what you make of it

a guy who walks into my gym and trains like an idiot gets little respect from me no matter what his physique

a guy who comes in and busts his ass, shows improvement, and is dedicated.
those are the guys who will push you through your toughest workouts

surround yourself with either group and your results will certainly reflect

I happen to agree with several of you. You gotta admit that is one strange workout, I`ve never seen anything like that. The guys in your gym who might appear to be freakishly gifted in certain areas, if they seem to be approachable, I`d pick their brains, asking them for a few tips on what they have done, to reach that level of development. Performers, ie yellers, & screamers, by an large don`t impress me, you know when its staged.

480,510,630 are these done raw, or with the assistance of a power suit, and bench shirt? Only 1.5 yrs of training under his belt, and 19 to boot? Those are incredible levels to be pushing,& pulling.
I`ve got a good friend whose been PW`ing for a real long time, I`m gonna run these numbers past him on Monday

I throw out most of the "rules" on training you guys defend here out the window. I isolate (before compounds). I train over and hour all the time. I have an arm day (add neck and lower arm). I workout up to 5 days in a row. On occasion I run with scissors etc. etc. So what?? Glance, just don't beat off with your eyes. It's distracting.
