    Sitting or standing?

So Im just wondering if theres any advantage to doing DB shoulder press sitting or standing. I read doing it standing is better for functional strength. But it kills my lower back to stand up straight especially when the weight is above my head. And i have to reduce the amount of weight I do when standing. Any thoughts.

and second you do less cause you use more muscle to stabilize your self muscles that are not as strong as your shoulders

Also, be careful not to arch your back while standing. You might not even realize you do it, but that could very well be the cause of your lower back pain.

Standing is my preferred method but I do both. More standing push presses then strict military.

There was a thread on this a while ago.. Due to that convo I decided to go with standing.. Better form, and more muscles used to stabalize.. IMO anything that hits more muscle is better

I do it sitting because even sitting I have a problem not arching my back because I have a natural big arch which makes my arse look big. But it also makes my back look huge but then again it makes me look like I have a pot if I ever don't tense.
