I found out today when I tried a superset of squats and deadlifts. I felt, and still feel, like someone took a blunt stone and sliced open my thighs.
I am never doing that again. It was after I had done Squats AND deadlift sets and wanted to see what it felt like. I nearly collapsed.
I also took a tumble on the way home from the gym as there's a steep slope out of the car park and onto the main road to where I was walking.
And tommorow no doubt I'll be walking like a chicken due to the intense DOMS.
T-Man,
Your about as crazy as I am. You just tackled the two toughest exercises. I don`t know if its a good idea to do them together on a long term basis.
Dude, I do like your heart, intense gut busting work, does have a way of giving you a sence of perspective.
Keep bringing the meat in the gym!

Well yesterday I had a slight pain, or rather discomfort when tensing my leg I think I tore my thighs slightly. Because I tried my best keeping myself up but i fell down this path downhill n people thought I was crazy cos it was like next to a main road haha. SO funny
But in my quest for that beloved intense DOMS in my legs which I so crave, I only have a slight warm and discomforted feeling in them -_-
What do I have to do to get that nice feeling in my legs???

Stop thinking that it's macho to kill yourself in the gym. it sucks when you have to take a month off and miss that much of your beloved overtraining.
That day was:
7:15 - 300g Bran flakes, a banana and 500ml milk
10:45 - Tuna sandwich and a nurishment
13:05 - Tuna melt sandwich with a small carton of milk
16:40 - 2 big slices of toast with 400g beans and 100g cheese on top
17:30 - 3 glutamine capsules
-workout-
19:50 pwo shake- ran out of dextrose so i had 2 scoops of whey, 5g creatine, 3 glutamine capsules and 2 bananas
21:00 - had a chinese takeaway beef chilli with noodles, needed to bump up calories
11:20 - had a protein shake and a banana with 3 glutamine capsules and 3 zma capsules
This was one of my better days.
Yestrday was sort of the same up til 19:00 and then after that the only thing on the menu was chardonnay wine, guiness and fosters. I can safely say I will not drink again in my life . I feel like someone placed my head on a curb and then stamped on it.
Today I was feeling like shit, and I stayed at my friend's house unplanned so I only had 2 bananas, some milk and an apple for breakfast, then went to college and had a chicken and meditteranian veg sandwich and now I'm home, still feeling rough at 16:39 but I'll fix myselfsome baked beans on toast with cheese!
Is there any foods you can recommend to bump up the calories btw I don't think I'm getting enough

It's less a "feeling macho" but more of a "know you've worked effectively". Because I think my CNS is giving out way before my muscles. It was the 5th time I had EVER worked my legs and did both squats and DL's.
But I was feeling it in the evening... just took a while to kick in. I can still feel it today I cant walk past a certain pace cos my quads ache like fook!

I don't understand why everyone associates DOMS with a good workout. We all know (at least we should) that DOMS isn't a requirement to achieve proper results.
Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy the feeling to a point. Although, at this time in my life and training, walking and functional movement after training days is much more important to me.
I know but comeon think the 5th time you did squats... your muscles at first should feel DOMS for a good few months although I felt it only once before.
Yea, of course as newb you'd feel it regardless of how you trained.
Today I'm more interested in functional strength so I train that way. Low volume high intensity. Yes I feel some degree of DOM'S after my workouts but nothing like the higher volume sessions I used to do.
Well I've trained my upper body for nearly 1 and a half years so it's quite big, and although my legs used to bigger than my upper body and it was way out of proportion, my upper body has now caught up and now is when I started training both, instead of just upper.
I don't get that much DOMS in my upper body unless I overtrain
