    Pushups, squats and abs......

I was wondering do push ups, ab exercises and squats (no weights) fit into the don't exercise that muscle group for two days in a row category? Plus, is it ok to do it with my regular weight training exercises?

To what end? What do you want to accomplish by doing them?

Well, I do see some muscle gain and strength from doing them. So is better to include them with my weight training or do them separately?

If you want to do them i would work them into your training program.

Core and ab work should be done regularly anyway, and can easily fit into your training after each session for a set or two.

Weighted pushups are a great substitute for bench press, and bodyweight pushups are definitely a good addition to the end of a workout. Bodyweight squats can be used in a similar way, or to help practice proper squatting form for when you do them weighted.

There are a tonne of ways to put them into a program, but its not necessary to add extra workout days just for them. Recovery is more important for growth than work.

All right. That's good to hear. So what I want to know now is, can I do them for 2 or 3 days straight or still 1 day of rest?

Depending on what your training goals are, is the question.
If your sights are set on increasing your size, and strength, backing off and resting will serve you well. Think about it, you so 3 straight days of pushups, and no weight squats, its going to affect your chest, shoulder, back, and leg workouts, and probably not in a positive way.
If your training for a sport, pushups, abs, and no weight squats might help you.
Of coarse you can do anything you want in a gym, heck I`ve done Deadlifts 3 days in a row before, why because I wanted to. Do I do this on a regular basis, no.

Just because they are bodyweight only exercises doesnt mean they wont have an impact on your body. Any impact means recovery time is needed.

If i had to choose between more work or more rest i would keep the rest. Its that simple.
