i use to do one body part a week. chest, arms, shoulders, back and legs. then some guy tolled me to hit the same muscle twice a week.
i would do chest by itself then back and bys, shoulders and tries and then legs by them selves. is this a good idea because i did some researcher and found out that the second muscle part cant preform to its max. is it better to do a muscle a day or do two muscle a day but only 3-4 exercises pre muscle.
I like to do one heavy workout and one light workout per week.
I find that letting the muscles recover for 7 days will sometimes leave me achy after a workout.
If I do a light workout in between I avoid that achy feeling.
My light workouts have the same number of sets and reps but with weights 25% to 40% lighter than normal. It should feel pretty easy. It is part of the "rest and recovery" phase and is not designed to build muscles but to allow a more beneficial recovery.
Training in terms of body parts is inferior anyways. As for doing everything twice a week, quality is more important than quantity. Enjoy the extra rest because you grow outside the gym, not doing more work in the gym.
