When getting ready for a contest, I adhere to the notion of running with 20g of whey in the morning-pretty much a modified version of running on an empty stomach. If I try to run without anything-I damn near puke.
When I am doing cardio for calorie partitioning, I do it after the weight training and usually do either treadmill sprints-Built style, or I do the elliptical on a hill interval.

I personally complete two to three ab exercises in two sessions per week. I believe research indicates 2x a week is adequate. Exercise selection is paramount.

    I SPRINT, but I don't run.
Stop intimidating the men and you won't have to sprint after them!

Built just pulls out the massively muscled paw and stomps on them from across the continent. Or swats, depending on her friskiness.
