    Flexibility

    G'day All,

Just wondering what everyone does to try and combat losing flexibility after doing weights. I mean, it's good to bulk up, but what is the point if you can't have the speed and flexibility to put it to use when it's most needed?

I do boxing to try and build up speed, what about you all?

Stretching post workout (I do between sets mostly), if not done, as you've noticed flexibility degrades over time.

That's mostly a myth, but I know BBs who can't play golf because of their lats!

I was messing with Vince Taylor once. I said "Hey Vince, can you touch your shoulder because I can't (bicep in the way)?" He came around sideways somehow, touched it and said, "Yeah, I can, but I just can't touch my traps!" It was the funniest thing... he tried like mad, he only got to about 4-6 inches away!

I stretch post workout and even between sets. Also exercises such as stiff-legged deadlifts can only improve your flexibility.

I dunno about that, I have a very hard time touching my head to my knees any more and it used to be fairly easy, now it "hurts" a bit.

Maybe DP/GP can comment on this, but so far as I know the act of muscular workouts will force someone to lose flexibility over time, other than getting into the size thing.

I have a harder time washing my back and the back of my neck now, but I can certainly still touch my traps
