Hypertrophy Specific Training (HST) is an entire program written by Bryan Haycock (I believe). If you google it you should be able to find the specifics of the program.

patrick you know i thought you were like 47 or something

never knew you were as "young" as 30 lol

would you recommend HST for a beginner, someone who is a bit experienced but no pro or for the really experienced lifters?

I can't recommend it for anyone because I don't really have an understanding of it. I just know of it.

I'd recommend any sort of structured program. You could write your own (have you seen my e-book?).

The reason most of these programs work for people is because they are structured and planned out which is something that most trainees have never done before. Or, if they have done it, it hasn't been as specific as it needed to be. So, just by the nature of having a plan, people tend to improve.

HST is a low to moderate volume program that utilizes linear periodization. There's nothing particularly special about it.

With that said, I don't think there's anything at all wrong with it.

    Hey Funk,

No I havent. Where can I find it i'm interested...

And to cowpimp: Thanks man, I think i'll try it out.. I did it yesterday and felt like it was a good workout cause I got to focus on a good set, and not worry about "saving" energy for later in the workout, for each muscle.

    any other tips for it?

Info about it can be found here.

other tips are just to structure your own training. evaluate what you are currently doing and how you can make it better.
