If someone sends money to a relative overseas, and misspells the recipient's last name -- off by one letter -- will they be able to pick up the funds?

You might be screwed...hypothetically!!
Well... hypothetical recipient can try and pick it up at different locations hoping that some clerk won't notice the difference.
All information provided by me is for research purpose only. I do not sell illegal compounds nor can I supply anyone with a source for raw materials.

Hypothetically call the western union customer service and tell them you hypothetically spelled the name wring and you want to change it give them your hypothetical Mtcn number and your done should take about 3 hypothetical minutes lol!

I went through something similar and wu is very accommodating

i changed the receivers name at moneygram. just needed the receipt. they did the rest. they don't ask for ID. and i don't think WU is supposed to either unless it exceeds a certain amount. though i know the one time i used WU, they ignored that and still wanted ID. which is one reason why i don't use them anymore.
technically NO
however some time local person will cut breaks but its rare

That is what I thought. I lost a bankwire recently as my numbers were all correct- but the recipiants middle initial was wrong. Instead of correct it- the bank clerk just booted the entire transaction.Be careful all details on payment are pefect guys.
