AAS = Anabolic-androgen steroids
Simply as "steroids" or "'roids", are drugs which mimic the effects of the male sex hormones testosterone and dihydro-testosterone. They increase protein synthesis within cells, which results in the buildup of cellular tissue anabolism in muscles.
HPTA = Hypothalamic-Pituitary-Testicular Axis
relationship between these glands and the production of testosterone
PCT = Post Cycle Therapy
Process performed after a cycle after a to recover the functions of HPTA.
SERM = Selective Estrogen Receptor Modulator
Nolvadex, Clomid, and Raloxifene are example of SERMs
ER = estrogen receptor
The main function of the estrogen receptor is as a DNA-binding transcription factor, that regulates gene expression. However, the estrogen receptor has additional functions independent of DNA binding.
LH = Luteinizing hormone
In males where LH had also been called interstitial cell-stimulating hormone ICSH, it stimulates leydig cell production of testosterone. It acts synergistically with FSH.
FSH = Follicle-stimulating hormone
is a hormone found in humans and other animals. It is synthesized and secreted by gonadotrophs of the anterior pituitary gland FSH regulates the development, growth, pubertal maturation, and reproductive processes of the body. FSH and luteinizing hormone (LH) act synergistically in reproduction.
AI = Aromatase Inhibitor
This is a group of anti-estrogens that will keep AAS that aromatize into estrogen from doing so. Here are some AI's that are used. Aromasin (Exemestane), Arimidex (Liquidex or L-dex), Femara (Letrozole), Proviron (Mesterolone)
Although aromatase inhibitors could be considered antiestrogens by some definitions, they are often considered to be a distinct class.Aromatase inhibitors reduce the production of estrogen, while the term "antiestrogen" is usually reserved for agents reducing the response to estrogen.
AE = Antiestogen
is a substance that blocks the production or utilization of estrogens or inhibiting estrogens effects. (Estrogens are the family of hormones that promote the development and maintenace of female sex characteristics.)
Clomid = Clomiphene Citrate
A fertility drug to make women ovulate.
Don't use Clomid as a SERM to help block estrogen from binding to the ER.
Clomid is better suited to restore HPTA functions by raising LH and FSH levels.
Aromasin = Exemestane: Breast Cancer Treatment
Arimidex / Liquidex / L-dex = Anastrozole : Breast Cancer Treatment
Cyclofenil = Cyclofenil: A gonadal stimulant and inducer of ovulation.
Cytadren = Aminoglutethimide: Drug used for treating Cushing's Syndrome
Femara = Letrozole: Breast Cancer Treatment
Nolvadex = Tamoxifen Citrate: Breast Cancer Treatment
Proviron = Mesterolone: Used to regulate irregular testosterone levels
Will add more leter but this is a start
