Weightlifting and my life
Growing up I was always trouble, not much of a family life and just partied and didn't give a shit about anything, was involved in a lot of crime, and drugs... We all know where that can lead.
At 16 I was involved in some Robberies and by 18 I was serving a 7 year sentence on two counts of robbery.
In prison is where I got into lifting. Saved my life. Not in any extraordinary sense, but it gave me a positive output, and enabled me to surround myself with guys in prison that were more concerned with weights then the bullshit, they kept me out of trouble.
While in prison lifting became a very concrete part of my life. And while in I definitely went through quite a bit... My mother passed away from cancer, and working out allowed me to cope with the stress of life.
I got out at the age of 25 and luckily had some family to help me get on my feet. I ended up going to college and graduating. Again workout out stuck with me... My old prison habit and now I am a college graduate, I have a good career, and I compete in power lifting
And if you think I'm full of shit
The names kyle brown... You can google me. I even wrote a short autobiography with a UVA professor Dr David Coogan
Life is full of trials. Lifting helped me through mine and find a productive path
