I just started a strength routine yesterday with some squatting, presses, rows, and olympic lifts. Today I'm feeling a bit sore in my core, especially in my abs and lower back. Is that soreness normal after starting a strength routine with lifts which require more core stabilization or is it a sign that I'm lifting with poor technique?

Big movements use the core, period.

If you're not used to that, then sure - a little soreness is probably a by-product of that.

It couldnt hurt to work on your technique some, though. Perhaps take the weights down a little and practice some more. Can never be too careful with that lower back.
