Get Shredded!
I need to get some tests for fertility, etc. Among them is Inhibin B. I can't seem to find that test on the usual online lab ordering sites. Anyone know of a place?

The prices labcorp gave me for walk-in self pay were:

LH/FSH = $211.00
Free/Total Test = $354
Inhibin B = $294.

I can get the first 2 no problem for like $50, but can't seem to find the Inhibin B test anywhere.

The backup plan is to have my doctor re-write the requisition and split the Inhibin B out so I can just pay for that one separately.

I'm pretty sure that's a test for ovarian reserves.

I read up on it briefly. Something about being an indicator of the presence of sperm in the balls. So if you have zero sperm but your inhibin b is normal, you might have an obstruction preventing the sperm from exiting.

Well the inhibin b test in males isn't widely used and there is no set normal range according to the bit of information I was able to find on its use in male fertility testing. It appears to be used in some cases to increase the ability of FSH testing in predicting fertility. As I said earlier though its mainly used to test ovarian reserves in women so finding a lab to do this test may be difficult and no matter it will be sent to a reference lab any way so if you have a quest diagnostics lab near you that may be the best place to ask.
