Comedians can push the truthiness and always have, but Jon has taken it above and beyond comedy, he is doing what journalists should be doing, but under the guise of
"just a comedy show". I am glad guys like him and Colbert are doing what they do I'm also glad that Lewis Black is doing his thing on there but I'd love to see him with his own show much like Stewarts but where he rips everyone a new asshole.......

Jim Cramer took the position of the helpless little bitch from the start. Even his voice was different. He was scared shitless of Stewart. Every time Stewart busted him on a lie, Carmer sounded a boy going through puberty.

That had to be one of the best interviews that I have ever seen, and I had to go to a comedy show to see it. That's very sad.

Jon Stewart always has and continues to be one of my favorite comedians, but this just puts him on an entirely new level in my eyes along with his Crossfire interview.

Couldn't have said it better.

"I appreciate that you're talking to me like i'm 5"
:roflmao:

Finished the entire interview. That was the best thing i've seen in awhile.

"I know you want to make Finance entertaining.....but it's not a fucking game."

^^^^^^^^^^

I had mixed feelings about that interview. I absolutely love Jon Stewart but it was a little hypocritical of him for making fun of another show for being quirky. Also, I really don't want to see him going down the same path as Rush, O' Rielly, etc. and not letting his guests talk or answer his questions. I understand that he has a point that he wants to get across, but I'd be a hypocrite if I never said I've been mad at Bill for answering his own questions or yelling at his guest before they get a chance to answer him.

Still, I love Jon Stewart I just hope he turns it down a notch since the crossfire interview it seems he's gotten a bit too comfortable in this technique.

I didn't see Stewart doing any of that. I saw him call Cramer on his lies after he said them, and he had footage to prove it each time.

What's sad is that Stewart keeps claiming he's just a purely for comedy show yet he does better digging into a story than actual investigative reporters. The guy obviously knows his shit even though he doesn't need to know that much to crack jokes especially on politicians. I guess he's trying to use it as leverage to shame people that he calls out like Tucker Carlson and Jim Cramer. I guess it's for the better that he fakes his detachment and tries to keep the comedic angle so that he can keep people viewing. Once he starts trying to portray it as something serious folks would lose interest.

true, and Bill O' Rielly, while I don't agree with the air he breathes, believes he's doing the same thing. Well, that's debatable as I think in 20 or so years when he's no longer a TV face he'll admit to being an act as much as Colbert's persona. The point is, regardless of whose side I'm on it doesn't make it right. Stewart did call this man on his lies and made him face his own hypocricy and shady dealings, but he didn't exactly give the man room to talk either. I just don't want to see Stewart going in the direction of relentless political ambushing instead of asking the questions that other interviewers are afraid to ask. Watch any random interview with Bill O' Rielly, and the very thing I get so frustrated about watching him I saw Stewart getting dangerously close to in this interview.

Don't get me wrong, I love Jon Stewart and watch his show nearly every Mon-Thurs and have for years. I would love to see more of the media have the balls he does. I think he handles his responcibility quite well, but he's always been the voice of reason against this very style of political bullcrappery. He didn't interview this guy, he just insulted him for 12 minutes. He took the oppurtunity to say all the things you've wanted to say to your middle school bully that you never had the guts to say, which is great for getting your point across, but the interview didn't have a lot of give and take that I expect from Jon.

Jon Stewart is just a fucking loud mouth that used to be funny. His show has really started to suck ever since he turned down the path of holier-than though, my opinion is so fucking serious and important uber liberal.

And yet you defend Rush Limbaugh, Bill O'Reilly, and Sean Hannity?

Hypocrite much?

ROFL, dude. He is a fucking God! He is the best anchor to ever live!

In this case he did leave some dead air for Cramer, but Cramer flopped around like a fish trapped in a net of his own lies and had nothing important to say other than he was sorry....

I kept thinking of a father scolding his child and giving him the ability to explain himself, but had a counter to every lie that came out of that sons mouth

good analogy

When have I ever defended any of those three?

My problem with Stewart is that he still markets this shit as comedy. He is just becoming self-important and super political.

This video is hardly Stewart ripping anyone a new one.

Really? Well almost everybody else who saw it disagrees. As a matter of fact, only the partisan conservatives disagree. I wonder why?

I'm curious too, as I am not a partisan conservative lmao.

I love Stewart, but this seemed more like a staged WWE match than anything significant.

Did you now see what started all of this? There is a huge back story, and if you haven't been keeping up, tyhe Stewart thing may not make sense.

Cramer knew Stewart had him by the balls thats why he was being so pathetic, the dude was doing what most Americans want when they start gambling in the markets, trying to win the big bucks fast. I see those shows as these "Learn how to win at Black Jack" shows some teach how to count cards and others show how to cheat and others show how to cheat but not get caught.....

Yeah, I know all about the back story. My opinion stands.

Don't feel like reading old posts so if you didn't then I apologize. I know there are some nutjob conservatives that post here that practically worship the ground those three walk on; if you are not one of them, that's my mistake.

I don't think he marketing this one as comedy at all. Stewart has been known to take certain issues seriously and this is one of them. I don't see how this was being political at all in any case; he was calling Cramer out on his bullshit lies and complicity. That's journalism in my opinion.

You have clearly never watched Cramer's show from start to finish. Yes, Cramer makes picks, but first and foremost he has always emphasized doing your own research and homework before purchasing a stock.

Anyone who hears his picks and goes out and blindly purchases the stocks he recommends is not truly following his advice.

*It isn;t about his picks. I am starting to think you didn't watch the whole interview. Cramer out right lied on multiple occasions, and after being busted by John with footage of the lie, all Cramer did was so he was sorry. WTF!

If you read my response again, you'll realize that I was defending the general principle of his show against the assertion that it is similar to a gambling show that teaches you how to gamble and hit it big. It was in no way related to the "Stewart versus Cramer" topic.

For real?

What other reason do you have for Jim cowering in his chair like a scared child who just got busted doing something he knew he shouldn't have.

John threw all of Jim's lies and wrong doings in his face and didn't ease up on him, and did it in good taste, John to me didnt even look a whole lot like a bully or an asshole in the process, I could however feel his passion for his cause, but if you don't want to call that ripping him a new one, then at the very least he put the man in his damn place and made him listen and face his faults.
