What about threads with IM content? Thougths, opnions, doubts..

The solution is to start threads that interest people, do you know how many times I come and see that there are no new threads started.
I try to get things moving in OP with odd news or politics.....I know most people hate politics but it does seem to get the most traffic.
Same with sports and health....

Not for nothing but I don't understand how one thread can take away the interest from another, I don't stay glued on one thread.

Soxmuscle likes Baseball news, I post news about his favorite team the Yankees.

Busyliving is into liberal thoughts....so I post about Obama, the Clintons....people he looks up to.

Some threads get more milage than others, I started a 401K thread a while back.....it was overshadowed by the crap thread.

I don't run this show, Prince does.

How about just one Mega-Thread for News---Make it a Sticky and whom so ever wishes can check it out, make it necessary that when commenting on a certain news topic put it in the Title Portion of the Post to avoid confusion.......

Say there were 3 good topics and people were posting about them back and forth. That could get real confusing. I understand putting it in the title but I just think that would be annoying. It works with MMA cause its all one subject but I don't think it would work with news since it's so general.

I agree 100% my bunny friend. I know there's an audience for discussing news, but I'm personally so sick of the news that I can't stand to even talk about it anymore. I've just kinda figured it's a fad and will die down eventually, but until then I definitly am bored by the constant discussion of who got murdered, what politic is a douchebag, and argueing if global warming is real. I say every douchebag should be murdered by a giant melting iceburg and suddenly I have a discussion.


Whenever I come to the site (daily), I scan through the topic titles with their 50 sumthin posts and just look for the fun and creative threads. I guess its just how my mind works, I'm more intrigued with imaginitive and clever material than depressing myself with the news. Besides, by now I know just about everyone here's opinions well enough I can tell the direction of the thread just by reading the title.

My thing has been that I try to be a news-vegetarian. I avoid the news like a vegetarian avoids meat. I find that while it does serve a purpose and is much better in America than in many other countries, its power has been abused to the point that only violence and eliciting disputes sells. Basically, its money driven vehicle spreads more fear than it does distribute information. I think as a whole its a fairly broken system among many, but as such I typically choose for myself not to watch it as a vegetairan would choose not to eat meat. I'm not judging anyone else for doing it nor am I trying to get anyone else to change, but for me and my beliefs it's something I choose to avoid.

I vow not to start a new thread at OP ever again, some people are overly sensitive about certain topics, if it's about religion I get a PM asking why am I picking on that certain religion, if it's about politics I get another PM or have someone complain how I always side with the liberals (hint, Bush was that bad) sheesh, I have even been called a Pedo because of the photoshops I made of KEFE.

Since I am guilty of posting most of the news I feel this is mostly directed at me, but even so we need a break from this.

Particularly look for ones where I posted my theories on the big bang like one was When God sharted and the particulates collided forming what we call "the elements" or the one where God got a huge spank on his hiney from his momma god....if you agree with any you can join my cult.....

Once you find those threads just argue amongst yourself. no need to rehash old crap....

Ain't it the truth...the big story on the evening news tonight was a bulging eyed psycho who went on a naked stabbing spree on a hiking trail out here. They spent the whole segment talking about why he did it and how he did it basically a Step by Step guide for anyone else who might want to try it out. They only spent a brief moment talking about how some bystanders saved one mans life but not in enough detail for anyone to know what they should do if they ever find themselves in the same situation......
