I do. I'm on a 2500 cal a day diet (which is a lot for a girl who's only 5"7). I have about 100 - 125 g protein, and a shitload of carbs. i also live off ice cream and cookies (my mom's encouraging me to gain weight...not like I mind).
<shrug> I'm only 5 feet tall, but at one point my maintenance calories were 2500. Maybe you need to eat more, especially if you are playing a lot of basketball.
hey Jaim.., I agree I would increase the cals if I were you, maybe thats what its gonna take for you. Other than that, it just takes time to start seeing that weight gains. You are definately lean thou, 20 lbs of muscle and you will be lookin really great. lift heavy and keep training hard girl.. GL
shit, didn't read all of the posts. i just repeated what everyone else said. oh well, also try in the 19-15 rep range, you probably have a lot of slow twitch muscle fiber (think of females on the crew team and their huge lats).
I do the 12 - 15 rep range using a weight I wouldn't be able to do anymore with. What do you mean I have slow twitch muscle fibres? I don't think I know what they are (and how can you tell just by looking at me). I would say I eat upwards of 2500 - 3000 per day or so...most of in it carbs..I can't up my cals anymore. i go to sleep every night with a distended stomach because it's hard to pack it all in.

females generally do have more slow-twitch, endurance type fibers than men. you could try to change it up to lower reps (6-8) with heavier weight and see what happens but i think your main problem is not eating enough..
u might benefit from a quality weight gainer: MHP's UP Yo Mass has good macros, i can't say anything about taste.
