I don't think based on that picture that dexter looked better. He looks sharp, but they both do....and his legs look so small compared to jay's...and his calves do not exsist.

all I can figure is they're trying to steer pro bodybuilding away from the huge, blocky, bloated look to a more appealing hour glass, symmetrical physique, which could be a good thing.

It's about damn time if if you ask me! I've never heard so much buzz in the gym about an Olympia as I've heard about this one. Definitely seems like a good thing.

I wouldn't say Jay is bloated. He is huge and blocky but I think he is pretty symmetrical and a great example of an X framed mesomorph.

Dexter is gifted but he is one of those guys that without drugs would be under 200lbs for sure...probably about 180. Jay naturally has a strong structure and natural would be well over 200lbs.

Geez looking at legs alone dexter shouldn't have won...he has NO calves and his quads are small....jay has great legs top to bottom.

I think the bottom line in my mind is Jay has the best combo of size and shape. He has managed to keep a tight waist yet fill out his X frame with a ton of muscle. He got robbed at the O

I do not disagree with anything you've said, but Jay is a classic "mass monster" and that is the direction that pro bodybuilding went and it definitely has not been favorable overall for the sport. So they really need to get back to a more classical physique if they want to keep this sport alive IMO.

Jay does have the better legs here, but it looks like from this picture Dex has better lats.....I prefer his stomach though....

dex and jay looked great, even phil heath.. he was amazing. next year he has a good shot of winning.

yup, you're absolutely correct, the pics make it look like they are equal in size, height, etc., and don't give an accurate comparison.

Dexter is way shorter and smaller in person then Jay. Neither of them are "tall" but Jay is much thicker and probably 3-4 inches taller.
