It's sad that the dog was hit, but stopping in your car is highly impractical to helping the situation.

It's a highway, people are likely driving between 55-85 mph. Stopping suddenly has the potential for putting several lives in jeopardy.

Uh yea....If you watch the video you'll kinda notice, it could have been pretty frickin' fatal, if there hadn't just happened to be people working on the other side of the Highway.

you're missing the point, I also hate to see an animal injured, however on a busy highway if cars started stopping it could cause a serious accident involving multiple cars, that is why the cars did not stop.

I assure you I have not overlooked that. But at the same time I believe that in this world animals have become more humane than us, and I wouldn't think twice about risking my own life to save one of theirs.

We had a dog stuck on the Highway here once, the first cars to see it slowed down a lot and all traffic behind slowed down correspondingly, we are used to sudden stops in the traffic because there are so few alternate routes, a road can get shut down in seconds causing the traffic to back-up fast. I don't know how many times I've been flying down the highway with only 3 other cars around me and then come to a virtual parking lot, so everyone has learned to anticipate it.....Also most folks drive at the minimum speed limit cause everyones so laid back, it drives me nuts when I'm in a hurry and these people are barely moving but it does make for safer driving.....

i tried to argue the point to tesla that stopping could get you killed and as a mom i'd have to consider my kids needing me not to get killed. she said "unfortunately you have two kids who would never forgive you for not stopping"



i'd adopt both of those dogs in a heartbeat, says the mom whose house is full of animals the thread starter dragged home.
