Arnold Schwarzenegger Set for New Conan Sequel

Arnold Schwarzenegger will return to the role of Conan in "The Legend of Conan" due out in 2014.
Arnold Schwarzenegger will soon return to the famous role of Conan the Barbarian in a new reboot called "The Legend of Conan" for Universal Pictures.
Thirty years after Arnold Schwarzenegger took on the role of Conan the Barbarian back in 1982, Schwarzenegger will return to the franchise that helped launch his career.
Although little is known about Schwarzenegger in "The Legend of Conan," Deadline reveals that two creative names have already signed on to the project, writer Chris Morgan (Fast and the Furious, Wanted) and Fredrik Malmberg, CEO of Paradox Entertainment, which currently holds the rights to "Conan the Barbarian."
According to Deadline, Morgan will produce the new Conan film and may write the script if he?s finished writing Fast and the Furious 7. Universal is eyeing a 2014 release date, which puts a tight squeeze on writing and production deadlines.
After Jason Momoa?s disastrous turn as Conan the Barbarian back in 2011, Malmberg wanted to resurrect Conan with Arnold Schwarzenegger in the title role.
Although plot details are unknown, the report indicates that "The Legend of Conan" will tie into the the first Conan film and will center on a "king, warrior, soldier and mercenary" who is "nearing the last cycle of his life" and wants to go out with a battle bang.
Directed by John Milius, the original "Conan the Barbarian" starred Arnold Schwarzenegger in the title role along with co-stars James Earl Jones, Sandahl Bergman, Ben Davidson, Cassandra Gava, Max von Sydow, and more.
In 2011, director Marcus Nispel tried to reboot Conan the Barbarian with Jason Momoa in the title role, alongside Rachel Nichols, Rose McGowan, Stephen Lang, Ron Perlman, and Bob Sapp, but the film failed to catch on with fans.
