Matt is incorrect on this statement, "MAP pricing is Minimum Advertised Price. It?s the lowest a retailer is allowed to sell a product at and is set by the manufacturer."
What MAP Pricing Really IS
MAP is lowest price a retailer can advertise a produce for.
They CAN and DO sell it for LESS at times.
I work for a Specialty Fitness Equipment Retail Store; we sell upper end fitness equipment.
We are mandated by the manfacturers to ONLY advertise the Minimum Advertised Price.
However, we (everyone) is allowed to sell any particular item for LESS in the retail store.
