Do people still trade baseball, basketball, football cards? I've got thousands of basketball cards from 1989-1991. David Robinson rookie, old Jordan, whole sets, etc. I don't have a clue how to cash these in. Anyone into this kind of thing? I was thinking about subscribing to beckett.com to get prices. I don't ever see card dealers around anymore, though. I may have over $1K of cards for all I know.

I'll trade you a Hakeem Olajuan for a Dikembe Mutumbo.

I collected baseball cards as a kid for soooo long. Up until i was like 17 lol. I have old school Ted Williams cards, Topps Griffey Jr. rookie, craaaap load of cards. I'm just holding onto them until i'm alot older. I literally have a closet full of boxes and binders and plaques and ....

they aren't worth that much. Only the EXTREMLY rare cards will sell. Nobody want's the $10.00 cards.

Even with the values in Beckett, they won't bring that usually unless it is a rare card and hard to get. Find a local card shop and see if they would be willing to buy them if you want to sell.

Ya, I have a shitload of baseball cards as well. I don't know what to do with them all? I do have some pretty rare cards though; 4 diff Barry Bonds rookies, Cal Ripken rookie, Griffey rookies, Mark Mcgwire rookie.

Here are what some of the cards I have are selling for on Ebay

When Mcgwire was about to break the record, I remember seeing this card being worth $1500

Plus others. I wish my cards were gem mint 10 but they are probably more like 9

This one time I found a honus wagner card, so I pinned it to a wheel spoke on my bicycle. It was sure an expensive sounding noise it made. :(

That would be a very sad story if it were true.

I guess I'll look for a local dealer. Seems like a dead business these days. I was sure into this shit as a kid. I had no idea I had this many cards until I cleaned the closet.

I would seriously wait untill the market gets hot again. it has been in a major slump for the past 5 years. Every two years out of ten years it gets hot again. My dad has left me complete sets of cards from the 1950s and they are worth alot but there is a spike and what not. Another thing is that most people dont remember that collecting cards is a hobbie not an investment unless you have tobacco cards from the 1920s.

Also about the robinson rookies watch if you have the right one. He has one shooting a free throw, that is worth like 50 cent and then there is another one that is worth 60 bucks since the last time I saw.

That sucks. I have the NBA Hoops one where he is shooting the free throw.
I also have 3 of his Skybox rookies, though.

hahah I collected baseball, basketball, and football cards growing up, was pretty hardcore about it

Its funny to see now what trades were made with my friends back then that I could kick myself now for trading, Ive had a Bonds rookie card, I had the Mark McGwire fleer rookie card(Think it was 1987), had some good Jordan cards, Griffey Jr.,Barry Sanders and Emmit Smith Rookies....

I think I still have a Shaq card of him in college, and some rookies, I have a signed Alonzo Mourning card hahah and I think my brother has a signed Penny Hardaway card, I had a signed Nolan Ryan card I sold about 10 years ago....damn...
