I got this on an email flyer from a supplement company:

Gas, food, everything seems to be going up in price these days!

Especially protein! It's been steadily going up since last Spring mainly due to the cost of feeding cattle since more corn is being allocated for Ethanol production.

Now BSN is increasing its prices as their production and material costs have risen significantly.

This should mean about a $2 to $5 increase in various BSN products no matter where you get them from.

Price changes are supposed to go into effect August 1. I can't confirm or deny, just passing it along for your info...

Not surprising protein has been going up for awile now. I guess their prices will go up with everyone else's.

Damn their shit is pretty high already! *lol*

I've been getting ON for basically the same price for the last 18 months....

I can confirm it for you brother. Here's the letter for all to view.

Dear Valued Customer,

BSN would like to take a moment to thank you for your business and ongoing support. It has been an amazing year thus far and we hope to continue our success with you. We have an exciting line up of products scheduled for release this year which are sure to help the growth of the BSN line.

BSN is globally recognized as a leader in the development and production of what we believe to be the most cutting edge and scientifically advanced sports nutrition products available on the market today. We spare no expense in the research and development, marketing, and sampling of our products to insure we meet the growing expectations of our customers. BSN has always and will continue to take great pride in delivering the highest quality of products at a fair and affordable price.

In an effort to keep the price of our products as affordable as possible, BSN has continuously absorbed the rising costs of raw materials, production, transportation and shipment of our products. In order to continue to provide our customers with the quality of products they have come to expect from BSN, it is necessary to pass on a small portion of these rising costs in the form a retail price increase. We are confident that these adjustments will allow us to continue to bring to market the same high quality, innovative products our customers have come to know and expect from BSN. The price adjustments will take effect as of August 1st, 2008.

Yes BSN prices are increasing, effective August 1st... They have to find a way to pay for there massive advertising on the UFC.. I don't know if you guys saw the pay per view about a month ago or so.. But their logo was in the Octagon. They are now the official supplement sponsor for the UFC.. Gotta pay for it some how.

Whatever happened to Xyience, they were behind all the mma for awhile?

Muscle Gelz Transdermals
IronMag Labs Prohormones
Xyience was really overpriced, but they had to pay for all that sponsorship. They were sponsoring some of the big time MMA guys from UFC.. Chuck Lidell naming one.

Maybe BSN will use be more reasonable I think they are a pretty buissiness savvy company.

They are very good at what they do. They are keeping focused on a few main products and not trying to come up with a supplement to fit into every nutritional category. Xyience lost focus and tried to come out with everything they could to sell to customers. Vitamins was one out of many that just didn't make god business since. Leave that stuff up to NOW Health Foods.

If BSN ever started selling vitamins and joint care, I would be baffled. But on the other though, now they sponsor UFC, they may need something to give to the sore fighters. I can almost see this "joint care" working though:thinking:

I guess I should cancel my whey protein product as well, and leave that up to XYZ company?

I agree it's borderline ignorant to sell a vitamin if it was as overpriced as the rest of their product line. Their are so many options out there.
