Before I started to get into the whole gym thing, I didn't really pay any attention to my diet - it was a lot of KFC and burgers. And I drank cola usually - 1.5 liters a day was not uncommon. Nowdays, all I usually drink is water. When I started to get serious, I decided to just ditch anything that wasn't water pretty much, and went cold turkey on the cola for months, and also at the time figured cutting out caffeine was a good idea.
Dropped from about 23% BF down to 12% in the space of around 3 months eating and drinking right. (Well, a lot better anyway).
However, doing more research into caffeine, it looks like it may actually be a good thing to have in the bloodstream in some instances. In the last month I would have had maybe 2 coffees, and 3 cans of coke. That has been the sum total of the caffeine I have had in that time. Anyway, ordered some caffeine tabs online - 200mg per tablet. Had one yesterday afternoon, had lunch and watched a movie. Nearly fell asleep half way through the movie. Today, took 2 tablets to see what effect that had, about a half hour before hitting the gym. Not only did it seem to have no effect, but I actually cut the session short as I just didn't have any power there to lift.
Am I just insensitive to caffeine? Anyone else? Anything else there is that I can do to give that extra stimulant for when I get into the gym?? BTW, I am not a big guy, so in theory that sort of dose should have a lot more effect on me I would have thought.
