I'm looking for people with knowledge and experience to theorize this for me. As far as insulin is concerned, what is the best doseage of insuling one could inject post workout without hitting a diminishing return.

For example, would a 8 unit injection offer a better recovery time than 6 units, if all of the nutritional variables were adjusted accordingly? If 8 is okay, how high could one go without the anabolic affects being diminished? What is the cut off point where you'll stop seeing positive benefits from insulin? Is it relatively low; or is it dangerously high?

I'd love any input from people with comprehensive knowledge on the subject. Thanks.

I dont know if I've seen higher than 20iu, but these are people using HGH and such as well. I may be able to dig up a Munzer's cycle that he was supposedly on before he died, I believe he was 20iu.

I wonder if muscle size would have much to do with it, but honestly I am not a slin expert so I wont theorize much here for you, I have no interest in it at current. Never really heard good things about slin without HGH.

I've been using my insulin (humalog) post workout with a ton of dextrose/protein/lower GI carbs for a little over a month. I have been working out more often then I had been before (every other day instead of every two days) and I've only hit a couple of sticking points.

I've been using 16 units for every workout besides legs, wherein I use about 18. Of course I test and balance my blood sugar to between 70-100 mg/dl an hour and a half post workout. I've been using insulin for nearly 13 years so I'm as safe as can be expected doing this.

I'm curious: I have been recovered much, much faster (except, again, on leg days) than at any other time in my relatively brief training career (one year of serious training HIT style), and I'm wondering: is there any benefit to having more post workout supplementation with a higer dose? Or am I getting too much already?

Input appreciated.

I wonder if this is because it's use by itself is uncommon, or if there is really little benefit in using it by itself? I don't know many diabetic powerlifters/bbers/athletes, to be quite honest, and the ones I do know aren't keeping good control of their blood sugar, and I think it's costing them.

bro, you really have to get to know your own insulin resistance level, every one is different. there isn't so much of a difference between 6 and 8 IUs. 2 IUs will certainly not be the needle in the haystack so to speak. you gotta start low and work up slowly to a level that you feel you can provide the necessary nutrition behind it. I really wouldn't work up to a dose past 15-20IUs, especially at a time. theres no real benefit to upping the dose. Mudge is right that slin by itself is not going to illicit crazy gains. its defn a drug that you want to experience eth synergistic effects combined with GH, and or at least test. All I am saying is don't keep uppin the dose expecting more muscle mass, you'll get fat. I can't give you a specific ceiling dose not to pass b/c everyone's insulin resistance is different for real, but I think you are fine where you are at personally. Throw some test in there if you really wanna benefit from teh slin use. thats a great anabolic combination fa sho. also I think I remember you saying you were diabetic, right DD? if so I bet that would have something to do with your insulin resistance being higher than normal.. anyways, peace bro... oh and fucc Randy! lol ;)

Well, the guy who said it didn't really give him anything noticeable competes and is pretty advanced as far as most of us are concerned, 19" arms @ 5'8" around 11% offseason bodyfat. I may give it a go sometime, but I dropped the idea awhile ago.

GH or LR3 IGF-1 would be my next playtoy probably.

Thanks for the responses.

GR81, oddly enough my body is not very insulin resistant. As far as diabetics go I'd probably be among the tops in terms of how efficient my body is at using the insulin I take. If I'm running high (250 or so) less than 6 units will bring me down to a normal range. I have been using insulin shots post HIIT and post workouts with dextrose and protein and have actually lost more body fat than when I was using no insulin at all. Its seems that if I hit the right time frame post workout with the shot, I am not storing any of the vast amount of sugar or protein as fat. I do believe in the effects of insulin used exclusively of AAS; however, if I were not a diabetic, I wouldn't touch the stuff in a million years. Such is the experience of nearly 13 years of a very rough disorder.

And Mudge, I don't blame you for trying other anabolics before insulin. The cost in terms of potential hazard is too much unless you've run out of other options.

And as for Randy..

No hard feelings, right Gr8?

Well you have some experience under your belt with it and that is a huge plus, people with no glucometer experience could get into hot water fast.
