CNN espouses so much racial, religious and political hatred its insane. Too bad the brainwashed in the USA cannot see Obama and CNN have created the greatest racial division of our lifetimes.

,.,, so what I did was change 2 words 'Obama & CNN'... one post is a patriotic god fearing republican... the other is from 'bomb throwing commie' who votes for liberals.... it's nice to see a 'fair and balanced post'........

I want this country to be fair and safe for everyone, but unfortunately some people are too afraid to hurt others feelings that they let a few bad actors spoiled the bunch. I'm not willing to sacrifice my families future and safety because people lets say refugees are struggling, or illegals sneak across the border, if you arent a criminal you dont need to sneak across. just saying. and if you dont agree with with the liberals than your called ignorant and need to educate yourself.

and these people are NOT hired for less money than someone in the states already. Its usually the opposite - great expense for a company to not only pay them but to cover relocation expenses.

is the program flawed? maybe- it might be- I honestly don't know.

I noticed not one peep from right leaning news sources about a NASA engineer being detained (without counsel) at an airport on an american passport and forced to open his government issued cell phone.


I dont want to open my private cell phone and hand over passwords while they go through my browser history. How does anyone not see that as a gross violation of your privacy- and where do you think that will stop at?

nother story I saw that to me just sucked (there are a cpl -babies as well) but a kid from syria had been accepted to MIT school of engineering next fall- full ride from MIT for exceptional scores and a brain for robotics/engineering.

he got punted in the travel ban. Now - you have to imagine- this kid has been diligently applying himself in a war zone he finally gets to see a possible reward or at least a chance to keep working hard- and hes from a banned country. That's not someone looking for some free handout in the US. MIT isn't exactly easy to get into and scholarships for MIT aren't just some free government handout.
nother was a baby on a travel visa scheduled for surgery in the US- this was a short term visa for a 4month old baby and her parents so she could have life saving surgery. How does that make the country safer? The baby did manage to slip in when the restraining order was put in place but IDK about the engineering student.

shouldn't there be some sort of gap somewhere in all of that mess for people like that?

I agree almost 100%, but I just can't help but feel that there's a US citizen somewhere out there, that gets screwed when a place like MIT gives out a scholarship to a student from another country.

Am I wrong to feel that way.??

I was just reading a story that Ford has had hundreds of engineering jobs listed to help with the driverless car program they working on for 2 years. They have had 3 applications from American citizens in that time frame.

MIT is strictly merit based so if the kid got in he beat out someone else fair and square..having a terrible background and overcoming obstacles to education may have very well have factored in ..but to be totally honest with you- the few foreign kids I go to school with are so much for driven than their american counter parts

the biggest problem I see with this- the lack of american applicants is where the ford plants are. Im not saying there is a lack of education but there isn't a high density of engineers there- and the people around some of the ford factories just don't want to go back to school or are starting to run out of time (life) to do so.

engineering is 5 yrs at a normal pace- 4 yrs at a break neck pace - 6 yrs at a break neck pace for a masters in it.


what engineering requirements are there? there is a two yr engineering degree as well but its basically only good for working on a shop floor as a supervisor if you're lucky. upside is the cost to obtain the 2 yr and the 4 yr are pretty small at a state school.
ford also has an assload of scholarships




engineers are pretty dense on the coasts- jobs are actually fairly competitive - few people from the coasts want to move to the rust belt

.. imo you're 100% correct.. when governments are leaning 'right'.. fascist ideology ensues.. left leaning tend to be a socialist ideology.. persecuting Jews is a byproduct of fascism.. of course hating blacks & Hispanics is the first action... but when the fascist regime gets more established they will come after gays, Jews, Muslims... I'm not saying to destroy, but to make those groups feel insecure, & afraid of speaking up... so they'd like the rest of America to say nothing , because it doesn't directly effect them... the American way, divide and conquer .. & that's one of the many reasons I don't like bullies[trump].....when trump yelled at that Jewish reporter he sent a message that many American Jews understood....

I think the problem is the type of applicant they need. We have Kettering University which is great at producing vehicle engineers. The issue is finding engineers with computer expertise that are capable of adapting that to the automotive field. And also, willing to work for auto engineering money instead of some start up in Silicon Valley probably isn't helping much either.
