I was recently reading over the anabolic diet (similar to the metabolic diet) and saw mention about co-enzyme Q10. From what I've read it seems that it could be very beneficial but it is also very expensive (at least what I've seen) and since I'm on a very limited budget I'm trying to weigh whether I should use it or not?

Another thing I had heard is that taking a calcium supplement before working out and can improve muscular growth. Anyone heard of this before?

Thanks.

Growth? You sure it wasn;t "contractions" or something along those lines?

Calcium is necessary in muscle contraction, and if you're calcium deficient it can cause a bit of havoc with strength.

And bone density.

And teeth strength.

Calcium deficiency = bad news.

If you're strapped for money, Coenzyme Q10 ain't required.

The CoQ10 is an antioxidant. It is aslo used to control the electrons in the energy cycle. (IMO, not needed if you get the other cheaper antioxidants like E, C, selenium).

The calcium is a must and should be taken before sleep. Calcium levels dip the most during our sleep. Make sure you take enough calcium because the body only actually gets about 20% of what you take in. Calcium Carbonate has the highest % of absorption.

CoQ10 was marketed to over 40 males for colon health wasn't it?

As for calcium I am curious myself, since were not supposed to drink milk, the coffee I drink drains calcium, and we need to keep our bones strong, how much and how often should be taken? hmm

Huh?!

Were not to drink milk?

Anyhoo, if you're on a high(ish) protein diet, aim for 1500mg a day.

Spread out through the day if you like.
