I'm a 26 yr old that has had one child, and I have some loose stomach skin on my lower abs. It's not terribly noticable when I'm standing up straight, but I have a lot of stretch marks there. And it kind of sags if I bend over. Anyway, I'm planning on competing in figure next summer. Is this kind of thing going to hurt me in competition?

Also, I had a consultation with a cosmetic surgeon today about having a tummy tuck and breast augmentation/lift (all because of pregnancy). I know a couple of you girls have had these procedures. Any advice on this? Was it worth it? My husband is not too crazy about me going under the knife for this, he just doesn't understand.

depends on how bad it is, my wife had the exact same problem and she had to get cosmetic surgery to tighten the skin. as far as stretch marks that should be okay, if you use something like Dream Tan on show day they will not really be noticable.

if you want to post some pics I will give you my opinion on it.

Shannon - It didn't hurt me by having stretch marks when I competed. Besides - your tan will cover a lot of it up.

Getting a tummy tuck is painful but if you consider the reward - it's well worth it. it's up to you and how bad you want it. If you're only wanting this done so you can compete - I'd recommend doing a competition first so you know if this is something you're truly interested in. Then I'd get a tummy tuck if your truly wanting to compete.

As for the breast aug - I'd really think about this one. You have to maintenance them. You can always have "push ups" put in your top. Many figure competitors who do not have fake ones do this. You wouldn't even know the dif.

Ultimately, this is your decision. Good luck and Robert can help you ;)
