Jodi said:You know that the new Xeon series (code name Woodcrest) was released this month too?![]()
Jodi said:I love it. All you AMD folks don't know what to say now.
You've been Intelowned!
Jodi said:You're just both upset because you finally have to admit that Intel is better than AMD

BigDyl said:True Story, AMD will just answer with a faster architecture by Aug 1st.
Yeah well I am sort of biasedCowPimp said:I don't really care which is faster. I go with whichever is a better bargain for the money. It looks like a nice chip though. I love how people become allied to a certain company. I don't give a shit who you are! The only reason I switched to AMD in the first place is because they were cheaper AND faster for gaming when I bought my most recent hardware. I have no qualms about going back to Intel if I ever get money for more parts.

Even before I worked for Intel I owned nothing but Intel at home and my job so it's not a true biased opinion. I have always preferred Intel.
You will notice these days that Intel prices are comparable if not better than AMD nowAlso our chips are better

CowPimp said:I still say it depends on the application. Sure, they are "comparable," but when dealing with a strict budget on a fairly low-end system, AMD is superior still in my opinion. For high-end systems, Intel has done well with this new chip and if they scale up production fast enough will probably compete well on the low and mid-range very soon.
Sorry, can't say I do. I do know that it's built on the same, new microarchitecture that the Core 2 Duo was built.ge3k0 said:do you know anything about it's coding lang. that it uses like with it's registers?
same as standard intel junk 1xx crap?
Jodi said:How so, Intel's prices are just as low as AMD's now. Conroe is definately not just for high end systems that's why there is 5 chips out varying in speed. Also there is the Extreme Edition. Your basic new Core 2 Duo standard retail cost is only $199.00. That's insane for this type of technology. AMD can't compete right now. On top of it, Intel lowered their prices 60% on Pentium products. You can now get a Pentium 4 processor under a $100.00
