Deepak Chopra has said many a cool and helpful thing that has helped alot of ppl get motivated and find a direction and reason to pursue it, but he's still just one man giving an account of what he's read of sutras and other doctrine ( holy scrolls and books and so on).
I'd say he miight have something to say that 'd be of use to you.. as might Anthony Robbins for that matter, but if you want to make up your own mind I would probably recommend that you pick up some sutras ( buddhist accounts of interactions and converasations with siddartha guatma - the first great buddha ) and a copy of the vinaya ( rules that monks and buddhist nuns are by virtue of indocrination and precept induction meant to be living by) and get your own take on it all.
If that's too much thinking then Deepak probably has you covered.. as does the Dhammapadda or the mahabrahatta. It's all on google . try Beliefnet offers features on religion, spirituality, faith, health, prayer, the Bible, holistic lifestyle, and more they'll send you some cool thoughts each day.

Our very nature is Buddha, and apart from this nature there is no other Buddha.

or this
The clouds that wander through the sky have no roots, no home,
Nor do the distinctive thoughts floating through the mind.
Once the Self-mind is seen,
Discrimination stops.

one more

[ quote]

As he neared a grove of trees, he met the Buddha coming from it. The Buddha smiled and took his hand. Together they went to a temple where two old monks were sweeping the floor. The Buddha said to them: "This young monk will live here with you from now on. Continue your sweeping, and as your brooms move back and forth, say the two-syllable mantra that I will now give you. Don't stop until I come back."

The young monk sat down and listened to the movement of the brooms, to and fro over the floor. He heard the whispered rhythm of the mantra as it was repeated over and over again. This went on for many weeks, and before the Buddha came back, the young monk had found full liberation and so had the two old monks.

-Majjhima Nikaya

okay so 1 more ..

"How, dear sir, did you cross the flood?"
"By not halting friend, and by not straining I crossed the flood."
"But how is it, dear sir, that by not halting and by not straining you crossed the flood?"
"When I came to a standstill, friend, then I sank; but when I struggled, then I got swept away. It is in this way, friend, that by not halting and by not straining I crossed the flood."

-Buddha, "The Connected Discourses of the Buddha"

Rather than reading you should try Transcendental Meditation, I started at the age of 11 and it taught me a lot, especially about myself.
