do any of you feel like giving up on training like you not making any real gains? i do 90% of the time, i feel like i should sell all the equipment i have :( . i guess it really wouldnt matter if i did or not. i havnt really made that much gains anyway :( . ...i guess its just because of the place i live in. i might just move in w/my dad.

Bro, seriously, suck it up... It's time to face life and make the most of it. Don't settle, and strive for the best... You seem to be shakey in every mind set and in all you're doing or not doing. Life will fuckin suck cow shit if you let it. Check yourself, and get your mind right. Decide what you're going to do, and just do it... Put thought into your decisions......... If you're always double minded it's a sure way of getting no where real fast. Anything worth having is worth working for... Best wishes.

Just keep with it man. My biggest regrets stem from things that I didn't follow through with. I was one of the best youth bowlers in the state at one time, but I felt like I wasn't good enough so I quit (stupid). Little did I know that my YABA average was good enough to get me a full ride to a few different colleges. Of course had I not dropped out at 16 that could have been an option (yet another big regret).

You are one big ass 16 year old. You are obviously reaping the benefits of lifting, just keep plugging away. Like Superflex said: Decide what you are going to do, and just do it. Don't let the little things get in the way of the bigger picture.

It's only human to feel like giving up from time to time. How often that happens, and why it happens are of course different from person to person.

Overcoming self doubt is just one of many signs of greatness. So step back, keep your head up and don't let yourself become weak in the mind because the body will follow suit in short order if you do.

If it's just a matter of being unhappy with your most recent results (I don't know your goals) then perhaps it's time to comb over your workout plan and switch things up a bit, experiment with some new techniques or simply take a day off to stop and smell the roses, appreciate the gains you've already made since you started. Imagine if you had quit 6 months or a year ago. It's not worth it and nobody needs to tell you that.

Good luck, don't quit. In the back of your head I'm sure you know better.

I use to feel like giving up and I haven't even been working out that long really. It was mostly do to being uneducated about working out and eating properly ;p Now that I've started up again and I eat and train properly I'm finally making progress after 2 years of doing everything wrong :)

Anyways, just keep at it and I'm sure you'll achieve your fitness goals!

I'd sell it all and also delete your acct here. You already quit school, so this should be easy for you.
:clapping: agreed, might as well be a full on loser, don't half ass it...look to your Uncle IronSteel for an example...

Life is not fair and many people are disgusting selfish pigs. You can either deal with that truth or not.

No, I enjoy my training, even if I hit plateaus. Breaking a pleateau feels great to me. Plus, what are you talking about? At 16 you are throwing around some heavy ass weights; much heavier than most of the gym-going population will ever touch.

Are you telling me that you actually believe his numbers???? I highly doubt they are real. Let's see a video of him bench pressing and deadlifting and all that other stuff. I do not believe ANY of it until I see it myself. And when you do the video use real weights, none of that plastic shit.

He put up a couple pictures of himself deadlifting 365.

I believe his bench numbers. I've seen and heard bigger from people his age. He's a pretty big dude.

I always question everyone's squat numbers. I always want to know what depth they claim to get those numbers at. No one at my gym squats as deep as I do. Not a single trainer.

where are those pictures? and have you heard of photoshop, he can easily throw on some extra plates using digital methods.

True enough, but he got the pictures up pretty quick after it being requested of him. Plus, I'm more likely to believe that kenwood lifted the weight than figured out how to use photoshop well enough to put together a doctored picture of that quality.

 Agreed.

lol, well if it is true, then i bow down to him because that is serious weight for his age group. i also squat all the way like you said even if that means using lighter weight then some of the guys but i dont care

We had several kids dead lifting 400-550 at 16 or younger plus several benching 300+ at 16 also.

no way unless they were juicing......
None were jucing son. Some people have dedication and goals and trained smart. A 400lb squat is nothing at 16.

Giving up is not an option.

Being beaten by somebody else is a part of life that everyone has to deal with, but beating yourself from the inside out is just pathetic.

If you cant handle yourself, just pack it up and go home because other people couldnt give a fuck whether youre okay after they trample on you or not.

Dude, gains take time. Don't set your expectations too far out. Stop looking at the pics in Iron mags, or if you do, understand that these guys have been busting it for years and years.....most with a little help, if ya' know what I mean.

Look at it this way. Some people don't set goals for themselves....because they're too ignorant or indolent to care about anything.....these folks we call Losers. The fact that you feel frustrated or disappointed is actually a good sign...at least you're goal oriented. Read up on self-actualization. It may help put things in perspective somewhat.
Now, as far as all of this "Go ahead, give up kid" and "you're a freakin' loser anyway" stuff goes....fuck it. I'm sure these guys are only trying to kick you in the ass to get you motivated.....its what we fellahs do, and I agree you might need it, but the one thing you should never, can never, do is listen to other people's negativity when it comes to your goals. Gaz is right to a degree. Most people could care less about whether or not you succeed.....an unfortunate but realistic truth.

My advice? Set another goal...and if you don't hit the mark, set it again...and when you fall on your ass, get up and set it again. When folks say you can't, smile at 'em, get up and do it again.

Life's too short. This is your life. And while you've got plenty of time to succeed, now is the time to develop strong goal-setting habits and self-discipline. This applies to education, training, personal relationships .....everything. If you don't do it now, then you will watch others pass you by later, and that ain't a good feeling.

So get up and set it again.:thumb:

Nah, I've just learned how to learn from my poor choices.....still do every day.:thumb:

I hear that one. Whats good today ill usually find out is an idiotic thing to do a few days down the line.

I enjoy lifting weights. ACtually, I fucken love it!!!!!!!

I don't force myself to go to the gym, I force myself to take days off. *sigh* days off....

suk it up kenny, your 16. No rush dude. Enjoy the ride, cuz the destination is crap. Its alot more fun getting big, than hitting a hault at your genetic potential blah...

in general, life's about the journey, not where you end up.

Its hard sometimes but setting yourself goals along the way works for me everytime, i think iam like most and i have to force myself to take time off but when i am off i sit down and think what goal to go for next, at the moment its the cardio/running side ive got to beat my times i did last year in my 2 10k runs i did.......i gotta beat them ..goodluck.....

Ok I am not sure how many thread kenwood has made about being depressed, lost, or suicidal (yes, he made one of these). However, if you feel like giving up weight lifting then take a week or two off! Have you even tried that yet? It truely will fuck with you. It will fuck with you so bad, that when you do work out the next time, it will be like xanax to your frustration.

Dont forget that most, YES MOST people arent even at the fucking gym! Which means you are already twice as big, healthy, and alive than the average person.

Take yourself OUTSIDE the box and look at the big picture. You stand out of a crowd.
