My total was 231, free was 34 pg/mL. Obviously bottom of the range. He said to not worry at all, but I don't believe him. I asked him about doing testosterone enanthate injections and he hmm'd and haww'd and said that since I have diabetes, it would raise my blood sugars. My Hemoglobin a1c is 5.4 so my diabetes is very controlled. Should I consult a new doctor?

Depending on your age that could be within normal limits. Regular docs will keep you in the lower numbers, TRT clinics will keep you around upper limits, some as high as 1000-1200. If you're not having symptoms of low T then you might be ok where you're at.

Its all relative. Plus, what one doctor thinks is just fine, another doctor may say you are way to low. I'd go get a second opinion.

Even in the VA hospital 231 is considered too low for test and you will put on HRT. Like Trojan said you should get a second opinion.

Sounds like the typical in the dark doctor.

The advice I'd give was what I got on another forum, and what worked for me after getting dicked around by an endocrinologist. He was just looking to get me within range, and didn't give a damn about my E2 levels because it was "in range" (which is a helluva lot higher than you'd want), wouldn't prescribe an injectable or even consider HCG.

Do a google search for Compounding Pharmacy in your area and call them up and ask them if any doctors are prescribing HCG for men in the area. Unless you live in a small town, chances are there is at least one. If there's a doc prescribing HCG to men, then that doc is more than likely open to TRT and is likely up on the latest info on AIs, HCG and proper Test levels. The guy I got was a general practitioner who also happens to be a triathlete who has an interest in aging (special bonus because he's a PCP, and visits were cheap). Most of the urology/endocrinology guys are just going to follow the scale and only want to give you androgel.

yes you should be on hrt especially if you have the signs depression no energy get second opinion.

Agreed, get a second opinion. I know it sucks but you will be glad you did...

Looks like you are in FL go to a TRT clinic they will give you some. I had a doc that wouldnt prescribe TRT so I found a new doctor.

Some doctors don't like to mess with that stuff. Find another doctor.
