LYNCHBURG, Va. The Reverend Jerry Falwell says global warming is "Satan's (BigDyl) attempt to redirect the church's primary focus" from evangelism to environmentalism.
Falwell told his Baptist congregation in Lynchburg yesterday that "the jury is still out" on whether humans are causing -- or could stop -- global warming.

But he said some "naive Christian leaders" are being "duped" by arguments like those presented in former Vice President Al Gore's documentary "An Inconvenient Truth. Falwell says the documentary should have been titled "A Convenient Untruth."

Falwell said the Bible teaches that God will maintain the Earth until Jesus returns, so Christians should be responsible environmentalists, but not what he calls ... quote ... "first-class nuts."

Hence my question regarding your religion - DOMS, (cc)brogers.

I don't see the problem with his statement. He said take care of the enviroment, but don't go overboard. I agree.

He's trying to refocus the evangelical movement. He believes God will take care of the Earth. You may not agree with him, but I don't see the big deal.

I see Falwell reads the forums here.

Lawl, he said global warming is the devil!

But of coarse you wouldn't see anything weird about that.

DOMS is Falwell?????

Yeah, but I remember him saying that he is neither, but he leans more towards the right, so he votes republican.

Hey DOMS, you wanna chime in on this?

Or a Republican ... he will tell you that if you ask.

Hi BC :)

Republicans, like all politicians, are sellouts. Lick thier finger, stick it in the air & do whatever is necessary to get/stay in power.

Republicans & Democrats should ditch the Elephant & the Donkey symbols & go with the Trojan Horse...

Yes, I'm a Republican. When did I ever say that I wasn't? I vote Republican because their party views are more inline with my own that the Democrats.

Maybe you think that because I consider GWB to be an asshat?

No because you said directly to me that you are not a republican ... you just vote that way because their beliefs are more aligned with yours.

Well brother Busy I'd be happy if they'd just all wear trojans ... :)

I'm not a card carrying member, if that's what you mean. But I identify myself as a Republican because they are more inline with my ideologies. I said that I don't tow the Republican line.

Well said. I'm so disgusted with all of them, I can't call myself one anymore. However, I'll continue to vote Republican, solely in opposition to the Democrats.

That being said, if Newt Gingrich runs... which I'm praying he does... maybe he could get the party back in line again. Poll I saw today said he leads potential Republican candidates with 41%. :clapping:
