First real disappointment in life

With all these decorations starting even earlier this year than before around the globe, I have a question: do you remember how old you were when you stopped believing in Santa Claus? And why? Did you see some actor getting dressed up? Or did your parents tell you?

I don't remember, but I know Santa and the Tooth Fairy were BS from a very young age.

I sometimes think it could be so good to believe in them and other miracles in the older age.

A guy I know just told me a story from his childhood, when he was 4, he noticed that Santa was wearing his father's boots and recognised him. A day later the teacher at his nursery school asked his mom to keep the boy at home till Christmas, as he was upsetting the kids, telling them that Santa was not real.
